COALITION
DISBANDED
The board of directors of NCPPF
voted to disband the coalition on November 21, 2006. The core materials
on the website will remain to help educate people about government use
of secret evidence and related bill of rights issues. The website will
be located within that of the Defending Dissent Foundation.

WHY
WE WERE FOUNDED
NCPPF was a coalition founded in 1997 following the passage of the Antiterrorism
and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, after it became clear that the
U.S. government use of secret evidence in certain deportation proceedings
was codified. We worked also on the so-called ‘material support
for terrorism’ issues in which aid to particular designated foreign
groups in areas of conflict, even including humanitarian supplies, was
outlawed.
MISSION/GOALS
Our mission was to defend the constitutional rights in the United States
of political association and due process for immigrants and citizens alike.
Our goal was to help change the political climate to support due process
and First Amendment rights by facilitating effective legal and political
action. As a coalition, we took no position on the correctness of any
political cause or conflict so that we were able to advocate for the right
of any of them to be fully expressed in the U.S.
MEMBERS and DONATIONS
We were a coalition whose members were organizations. We were an incorporated,
501c3 organization. As the group is now disbanded, we no longer take donations.
