The Defending Dissent Foundation is a newly coalesced national civil liberties organization based in the Washington D.C. area. It was formed as the First Amendment Foundation and recently renamed. Also NCARL, the National Committee Against Repressive Legislation recently melded into Defending Dissent Foundation. If you have been around a long time, perhaps you remember NCARL as the National Committee to Abolish HUAC – the House UnAmerican Activities Committee.
